Playing Online Poker has it's own code relating to etiquette that's very different to the etiquette you should have when facing players in a real-life casino. You could think that etiquette in online games is just the basic stuff, but to enhance your experience and making the game more enjoyable to everyone, follow this advice. You don't want other players to avoid playing with you.
Most of the etiquette in Online Poker involves the chat, and the usual problem is the same you face everyday in any online interaction you could have: the anonymity tends to pull the worst out of the people. Don't talk about a hand in progress once you already folded; this could change the outcome of the game in play and bother the players still in the hand. Also, don't talk about your cards when the hand is over; this only concerns you.
Remember that players of online poker games come to play, not to have extended conversations or to be annoyed with trash talking or (even worse) bad language. You should try to behave like in a real poker table and minimize your talking just to the bare minimum. Be polite if you want to say something and refrain from criticism or pointing out other players' mistakes. In case you get really annoyed by the behavior of another player, you can report this and/or just turn off the chat to focus only on the game.
If you need to take a break from the table, you have the option of sitting out so the other players don't have to wait until your hand is automatically folded, but remember to use this option only if you really need to. If you leave for a long period of time, the other people at the table could get uncomfortable, or someone else could use your spot if the table is full. Usually, you are permitted to be in this state for about 2 rounds of blinds (15 hands, more or less) before you get kicked out.
Some advanced players play in more than one table at the same time, increasing the number of hands they play in general. If you plan on doing this, remember to put attention to all the hands you are involved in. Don't spend all your time making others wait for your move, and try to win some time by activating the option of "auto-post blinds". Try to use all the advanced actions, so you don't slow the game down.
