History of bingo

How many of you know how to play bingo? How many of you have ever signed up to an online casino homepage just to play online bingo in the comfort of your own house? Bingo was originally a lottery game, an Italian lottery game and was very popular in 1530 in Italy, being played every Saturday. So we can say that at the end of the 1900 the game was well known by the whole Europe. It consisted of cards that had three horizontal rows and nine vertical columns. The rows had nine squares, five of them with numbers and four blank. Each vertical column had ten numbers, starting with 1 going up to 90. Wooden pieces with those numbers from 1 to 90, were extracted from a box or bag and the person who managed to complete a horizontal row won the game, yelling beano. We assume that the name came from the beans used by the players to cover the numbers from the cards.

The game was introduced to North America in the early 1900, where as in Europe became a very popular fair game, known under the name of beano..

In America the game was popularized by Edwin S. Lowe a toy salesman, who started to fabricate more game cards and sell those to people across the continent. Once with his comercialisation the game became widely known The finall name of bingo was adopted by Lowe, when at a country fair somebody instead of beano, named the game bingo. Did I convinced you? I told you soo that beano or bingo was popular even back then, but today it is more than popular, it is a flourishing industry.
